Kater - Zurich

The rocker bar, “Le Cactus”, has been transformed into the rock bar, “Kater” – where headbangers and rock’n’roll fans feel well and truly at home.

Here everything is black – the interior, people’s clothes, the night sky outside. Nothing detracts from the main focus of this bar: rock music. For this new enterprise, it is not just the sound, it is its purpose in life.

Former Swiss TV presenter, Dani Beck (aka DJ Beck in Black), together with two other like-minded friends from Zurich, opened the Kater in 2018. The bar endeavors to cater for all rocker tastes, from heavy metal through to the glam rock of the 1970s. The drinks list features various types of beer, whiskey, a couple of cocktails, but also alcohol-free favorites such as Bilz and Rimuss. And, of course, an insider tip against hangovers from the host himself: the fruity soft drink, Sinalco.
