The cube-shaped, bright red building of the local Moro & Moro architecture firm stands like a modern fortress in the centre of Locarno. In the eight rooms, spread across three floors, hang works by modern and contemporary artists. They come from Martine and Pierino Ghisla's private collection.

The windowless cube is located just a few metres from the harbour – and attracts visitors almost magically with its bright Ferrari red. Anyone who has seen enough of the unusual architecture can venture the step across the threshold and allow themselves to be pulled away from everyday life for a few hours into the fascinating world of the couple Martine and Pierino Ghisla.

Works from modern and contemporary art, including works by Picasso, Mirò, Botero, Frank Stella, Appel and Basquiat, are packing in tightly across three floors. Each room has been arranged by the Ghisla couple personally and to their own taste. This results in unexpected juxtapositions between works, which encourage you to smile and reflect.
